A Shreveport man was arrested after drugs were found inside his car during a traffic stop in East Texas.
Around 12:15 p.m. Saturday a Department of Public Safety State Trooper stopped a 2008 Chrysler passenger car for a traffic violation on US Hwy 59 in Angelina County.
The trooper suspected drugs were in the vehicle after contacting the driver, 28-year-old Jahadi Davis.
A DPS canine was used to search the car and discovered eight and a half pounds of marijuana, more than one pound of a controlled substance in pill form and more than 50 grams of controlled substance in liquid form inside the trunk.
Davis and a passenger identified as 27-year-old Brandon Player from Houston were arrested and booked into to the Angelina County Jail.
Davis was also wanted out of Montgomery County, Texas for unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Davis and Player were reportedly traveling from Houston to Louisiana.
