This week’s Fox 33 Standout Student is at the top of his class. He is a man of few words, but he has a whole lot to be proud of.
John-Brian Tyler takes his education seriously and that’s how he earned a 4.5 GPA.
He is the middle child of five siblings. One of his driving forces is being a role model to them.
“Give them someone to look up to and actually be great so they can follow.”
The 11th grader feeds the homeless, visits senior citizens and is active in Booker T. Washington High School’s video production program.
He also had the opportunity to attend the National Academy of Future Scientists and Technologists in Boston.
“I feel like it’s important to have an education. I want to succeed in life. I want to get my mom out the hood.”
He relies on his faith to help him reach his goals.
“I was always raised to put God first. I am a straight A student because of God.”
