Ariana Dalmou is a senior at Airline High School and she stands out in her school’s ROTC unit.
“I am basically the highest ranking cadet in our ROTC.  I tell people what they need to do, so we can accomplish our goals for this school year.”
She is the unit Core Commander.
“Having to go outside and really manage cadets and step outside of my comfort zone.”
She says ROTC requires dedication, persistence and discipline.
“Lots of work.  Lots of coming to school early for drill competitions.  Lots of staying after school a few hours every single day of the week to practice.”
The 12th grader is a member of National Honor Society and was president of the Photography Club.  She is one of 70 students selected out of nearly 500 nationwide to attend the Four Star Leadership program in Oklahoma City.
“The chance to come out of my shell, because in middle school I was really, really shy and I would sit in the library and just read.”
After graduation Ariana wants to pursue a degree in Art Administration.
