SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Police are investigating a shooting Sunday evening that left one man dead during a custody exchange at a Shreveport gas station.
It happened just before 7 p.m. at the In & Out Mini Mart on Linwood Ave. in Shreveport‘s Caddo Heights neighborhood.
Shreveport Police say that a mother and father of a child met at the In & Out Mini Mart to make a custody exchange. The father became upset that the mother had a new boyfriend with her. That is when the father pulled out a gun and began firing at the mother and her boyfriend. The boyfriend then pulled out a gun and returned fire at the father.
The father was taken to Ochsner LSU Health Shreveport with life-threatening injuries. The mother’s boyfriend also showed up at the hospital at a later time with non-life-threatening injuries and was taken into custody.
SPD has confirmed that one of the men involved in this shooting has passed away but can not confirm which one at this time.
