SHREVEPORT, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Shreveport Police Officers responded to reports of multiple people with weapons located near a residential area.

According to SPD, two officers arrived on the scene. While speaking to the group, one-armed individual fled the scene.

Officials say the officers ran after the suspect. The individual fired two shots at the officers. No injuries have been reported.

SPD officers continued to pursue the suspect. Police say the individual was found barricaded in a shed on w 75th in the Cedar Grove neighborhood. The suspect was arrested.

“Even under fire these officers continued to pursue someone they knew was dangerous,” said Angie Willhite, SPD public information officer. “We deployed all of our resources our drones, our K9’s, we had Caddo Parish Sheriff’s deputies,”

Willhite acknowledged residents who provided tips to apprehend the suspect quickly.

SPD Detectives and the Violent Crime unit remain on the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
