Deputies say around 6:15 a.m., Vaughn was being escorted in the main jail to the trash dumpster when he ran away from the area where the trash containers are washed.

The Marshall Texas Sherrif’s Office arrested him around 1:30 p.m. Saturday on East End Blvd. after a search by deputies and K-9 units.

“The citizens should be very proud of the law enforcement officers who come to the community to make our county safe, regardless of the uniform that they wear,” said Sheriff Brandon Fletcher. The search included the Marshall Police Department, TDCJ K-9 bloodhounds, and the US Marshall Service.

Vaughn has been placed in jail in the general population. He is charged with escape from custody.
